A century ago, Nicola Gambale (pictured with his wife Carmela) was a pioneer of southern Italy’s wine producers. Beginning in the 1930’s, he traveled to Castelfranci ‘s neighboring villages to sell the wine which he produced. From this passion for the land and enthusiasm for wine making, Cantina Castel dell’Angelo was born.

The tradition carried on through the years thanks to his sons, Pietro Giuseppe and Antonio. Today, Cantina Castel dell’Angelo , run by brothers Nicola and Giulio Gambale along with Giulio’s wife Raffaela Di Sunno, operates in both Italian and American markets with limited production to preserve high standards of quality.
